The College That Cares - CCC OVW

Coahoma Community College’s Office On Violence Against Women

Coahoma Community College’s Office On Violence Against Women (OVW) Interpersonal Violence Program is a supportive system of resources for dating and domestic violence incidents led by Kenneth Gooden.

Established in 2021, the program serves as a resource that will link with external victim service providers to improve support and advocacy on campus, a collaboration set to upgrade referrals, create more effective victim-centered response protocols, and assess 24-hour accessibility of resources to victims.

Hosting multiple awareness events throughout the academic year, program coordinator, Mr. Gooden hopes to recruit students, during Fall 2024, to be in the Tigers I.V.O Club to empower students to be advocates and organize awareness campaigns/events.

This is just one of many examples that embodies the culture of caring at Coahoma Community College.
